Implementing Campaign Manager - External Integrations

Traditional Method Of Raising Events Using Campaign Manager

Instructions that explain creating a campaign and raising an event in the 'traditional' way using Campaign Manager.

Procedure

  1. Create a campaign in Campaign Manager.
  2. Add an event source for the campaign. An Event is an instance of an activity from an event source for a particular individual in the campaign.
  3. In the example screen shot below, the event is expecting four pieces of information:

Name Column Mapping/Number
Key Column 1
Event ID Column 2
Event Date Column Number 3
Event1 4

If a piece of information is not available, set the column to 0. In the example screen shot below, the Creative Instance Key Column is not supplied and is therefore set to 0.

  1. Set up a Trigger.

A Trigger is the collection of Campaign Manager tools that execute for individuals when an Event from a particular event source is detected. In the example screen shot below, Tactic 1 is being implemented when 'Event 1' of 'Event Source 1' is received. Nodes commonly used in a Trigger include 'Goto track', 'Increment variable' and 'Implement tactic'. The recipients in the track will automatically be filtered to only those recipients listed in the event source file, RaiseCampaignEvent API method call, or RaiseEvent Kettle plugin step.
